When my parents told me earlier this week that we were going to see my godmother last night, they decided not to mention it was her birthday... I go there thinking it's just gonna be some chill out get together (haven't seen her for 12 years), and it ends up being this huge birthday party, and I tell ya, it was straight out of the Philippines, pure hardcore flip gathering...

Lucky me got the seat right in front of the karaoke stage (she owns a flip restaurant a couple stores down from her flip store. I told you it was hardcore...).

Now I hadn't seen any of those people that were there in over a decade, so you'd think they'd say something other than ".....*stare*.....ay, you're so skinny....". upon seeing me for the first time in ages...

I guess it wasn't that bad, it's good to see family sometimes, especially after 12 years, save for when that woman sung The Power Of Love... a little notice ahead of time couldn't have hurt... at all...

+: Oh yeah, and this was on tv last night, and it was tops. It had me believing it was actually gonna have a happy ending, swerving bastards... god bless HK cinema.
